The Copy Scams are a band version of a 24 hour zine. Created in Portland on a dare in 2009, Steve Larder Convinced Alex Wrekk, Paul Burke, and Marc Parker to start a band with him while he was visiting from the UK and living in their basement.
In 3 weeks they wrote, practiced, recorded, and played a show of lo-fi pop punk songs all about zines! With the help of another friend, Giz, they are headed to the UK to record some more songs and play some shows!
Paul reading the Qur’an at the SE London zine fest. He reads lots of religious texts. There’s a book of Mormon on his night stand and about half a dozen different bibles in this house.
The saddest thing I saw in the London Natural History Museum: an entire case of humming birds. This seriously made me cry. Look how many hummers were killed for some Victorian jerk’s collection.
